The long white linens of the Gassaway Mansion blew gently in the cool spring breeze as Michele and Bobby were finally married. With the sun setting behind them, the stress melted away into pure marital bliss.
Tucked away just off East North Street in downtown Greenville is a beautiful mansion filled with loads of character and history. Known as the Gassaway Mansion, it was actually one of the very first venues I shot at when I first moved to South Carolina about 6 years ago. It was incredible to be back, and even more incredible to look at the place through a totally new set of eyes. Not that 6 years ago was forever ago, we’ve just learned a few things in the 100+ weddings we have captured since then, and it turned my experience shooting at the Gassaway Mansion from being slightly stressful into a time where I could really dissect the light, and know exactly how I could use it to create some stunning images for Michele and Bobby.
Everything started on the front steps of the Gassaway Mansion, as guest gathered at the base of the 6 massive pillars that adorn the front of the house. Afterwards a beautifully brisk ceremony everyone headed to a stunningly beautiful reception just to the side of the mansion. Complete with an impeccably detailed cake, crystal chandeliers, and enough fresh flowers to make it smell like spring for miles around, it was a beautiful day filled with plenty of joy and laughter for Michele, Bobby and their guests.
Thanks again for having us guys!
