Our 38th and final wedding of 2015 was a very, very special one. It was the type of wedding that just warms your heart and leaves you with a contagious joy.
I first met Katelyn and Thomas at Ryan and Anna’s beautiful wedding at the Westin last year. They stood out to me because they just couldn’t stop dancing with each other. Katelyn especially amazed me because even while having muscular dystrophy she was still out on the dance floor for hours! Trust me, this girl doesn’t let anything get in the way of having a great time!
When Katelyn and Thomas messaged me months later that they had decided to get married, I was naturally very excited. As we talked about their wedding I knew I’d have some unique obstacles to overcome seeing as Katelyn’s condition requires her to have assistance standing, walking, and lifting things. I was confident that with Thomas there at her side, a little creativity, and Katelyn’s incredibly contagious smile we wouldn’t have any problems at all.
And we certainly didn’t have any, except maybe trying to make it through the day without tearing up too badly. We started off at the beautifully decorated Westin Poinsett where Kate got ready. Shortly after, Thomas got to see Kate for the first time. It was pretty apparent that they had been looking forward to the day for a long time, and they definitely made sure to take it all in as we captured their photos downtown. With a beautiful ceremony at St. Anthony’s shortly after, we all headed to the Commerce Club for their reception. And as you can imagine, just like at Ryan and Anna’s wedding, these two didn’t leave the dance floor for very long. With some great food, loving family and friends, and plenty of great moments, this was that kind of wedding you just had to stay at all the way until the final sparkler exit.
Thanks again for having us guys!!
