I glanced down at my phone to check the weather just 20 minutes before Ashleigh and Tim’s wedding ceremony. Normally it wouldn’t matter too much, but they had planned to have their ceremony outdoors on the back patio of Mary’s Cottage, overlooking the iconic falls park in the heart of Greenville. I looked at all the guests and carefully placed decorations, and then back at my phone again. A huge line of orange and red was headed right for downtown. Maybe it will blow over I thought… after all the weather changes in an instant this time of year.
Shortly after, Ashleigh was walking down the long garden isle towards Tim with a look of excitement and anticipation only a bride could have. The weather simply didn’t come to mind at all. A beautifully dramatic ceremony unfolded, and just as the happy couple took their first steps as husband and wife, the drops started to fall. Out came the catering staff at Mary’s to rescue everything to the safety of inside. This was not what they pictured for their wedding reception.
But what seemed like a disaster at the time, quickly subsided; opening up to a stunning rainbow overhead. Shortly after, Ashleigh and Tim were dancing the night away in the middle of a Japanese lantern lit garden full of the rain-soaked glistening leaves. It couldn’t be more of a perfect ending, and a beautifully unique story to start their lives together.
