My jaw pretty much hit the floor the more and more they talked about their wedding. So how many people will you be having at your wedding I asked, she replied… “Just you, and well, the minister for the ceremony.” We were to show up at Song Hill Reserve around 3pm to scout for a great location for the ceremony, then we would go up to the house to get some shots of Marirose getting her dress on, then come down for the ceremony, spend the next couple hours taking pictures, have a picnic, drink some wine, eat some cheese, and then take some more photos and have fun until the sun sets. I feel like I just hit the wedding photography jackpot.
Song Hill Reserve is located just on the border of South Carolina and North Carolina, right at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Landrum, SC. It’s got some great mountain views, a small pond, a pavilion for receptions, and just basically serves as the perfect backdrop for a outside, natural wedding. With lots of time for some photos we got to experiment with some new things, and really just have a lot of fun celebrating such an awesome occasion.
Thanks so much for having me Marirose and Thomas. It was a complete honor to spend your wedding day at Song Hill Reserve with you!
Most wedding blogs like to always talk about how everything always went perfect. The flowers were just stunning, the weather was perfect, the kids were all well behaved. Well sometimes that doesn’t always happen. Sometimes the minister is an hour and fifteen minutes late, the kids are acting up, and its absolutely freezing out. And you know what? That’s ok! That’s what makes the wedding unique, beautiful, and… YOURS. No one ever can have that experience again, and as long as you roll with it, I’m sure you will enjoy it just as much as if everything went perfect.
Enter in Patrick and Tanna. And yes, their minister was an hour and fifteen minutes late, their kids were acting up, and oh yes… it was freezing up there at Symmes Chapel overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. But you know what, we got though it, and they now have some pretty unique memories to start their marriage with… something that no one else can say they have.
Thanks again for having me guys! I wish you both the best in the future!
